Burn the Ships is a multi-day rite of passage for young men — built on grit, brotherhood, and doing hard things. Send your son to the experience, or get everything you need to run it yourself.
Every culture in history marked the moment a boy crossed into manhood. We stopped. So boys drift — handed a phone instead of a challenge, told to wait instead of to step up. Burn the Ships gives that moment back.
Today's boys are surrounded by screens and short on rites that demand something real of them. They're rarely asked to struggle, to lead, to be accountable, or to do something genuinely hard and finish it. Without that, "becoming a man" stays vague — a thing that's supposed to just happen on its own. It doesn't.
Each day builds on the last — from landing as individuals to crossing the finish line as men. Every activity is designed, sequenced, and tested.
Arrival, brotherhood, and the first question: what does it mean to be a man? A night hike sets the tone.
Leadership under pressure — conflict resolution, decision-making, and a team scavenger hunt that tests it all.
Real-world skills, accountability, and the Fireside Ceremony — where he burns what he's leaving behind.
The Rite of Passage — a four-mile climb carrying his rock to the summit. He crosses the line a man.
Whether you want us to host the experience or you want to create this space for your own son and his friends — there's a path for you.
Send your son to the original Burn the Ships experience — fully run, fully facilitated, every detail handled. You drop off a boy and pick up a young man.
Everything we built, handed to you. The only turnkey kit that lets a dad run a serious, multi-day rite of passage for his son and his friends — without starting from scratch.
Years of building, testing, and refining — packaged so you can run it with confidence. This is what's inside the licensed kit.
Minute-by-minute schedule, facilitator guide, and training to run every session with confidence.
The printed guide every boy works through — journaling, reflection, and reference, all year.

A branded app that keeps the fire going for 30 days and beyond — daily charge, goals, journal, and tribe.

I’m Phil — a husband and father first. Everything here started with a simple conviction: young men deserve to feel confident, competent, and inspired — and somebody has to intentionally build the space where that happens.
For the past eight years I’ve served as the CEO of a national fraternity, leading an organization built entirely around developing young men into capable, principled adults. Before that, I spent a decade working at the highest levels of state government — learning how to build things that last, lead people well, and get hard things done.
But the titles aren’t the point. The point is what they’re in service of: I’m passionate about young men feeling their best. Confident in who they are. Competent in what they can do. Inspired about who they’re becoming. Burn the Ships is that conviction, turned into four days a boy never forgets — and now, into something you can run for your own son.
Tell us whether you want to send your son or run it yourself. We'll be in touch with everything you need.
No commitment — just the first conversation.
Thanks — we'll be in touch soon. The ships are ready to burn.
